Is Obama Greek?

Is Obama Greek?

Attributed to LDS President George Albert Smith.  Don’t know if it is true or not, but interesting, none the less:

Then President George Albert Smith said, “I have had a troublesome vision of another great and terrible war that made the war just ended look like a training exercise, and people died like flies. It began at a time when the Soviet Union’s military might dwarfed that of the United States, and we, that are the United States, would have missiles that carried an atomic bomb in Europe. I saw the United States, withdraw its missiles to appease the Soviet Union, and then the war began.”

He also said that we would have big missiles in deep holes he described like grain silos which the Soviets would try to destroy by their own missiles. They would hit military installations and certain cities also. He said that the President at that time would be of Greek extraction. Until then all the presidents would be of British or Northern European ancestry. He continued that the U.S. would be bound by numerous entangling alliances and would take away weapons owned by the people. He talked some about the initial attack and the ground warfare, but I can’t remember enough to document all their tactics and in which countries various things occurred. One tactic, especially in Europe, was to transport thousands of tanks in big trucks like semi trailers on the super highways to have them located where they wanted them when the war was to begin. During that explanation I asked, “What about the Atomic Cannon?” to which he answered, “I didn’t see anything like that.” Then he said, “The aftermath was dreadful. Think of the worst, most difficult times of the depression.” He turned to us children and said “You won’t remember the depression,” which was true. I didn’t know there was a depression as I was growing up; the sun came up every morning, flowers bloomed, we went to school, and there was church every Sunday. But he repeated to our parents, “Think of the worst condition of the depression. “Can you think of something” to which our father answered, “Oh yes!” Then President Smith continued, “You know how Sunday School picnics are complete with salad, chicken, root beer, and dessert, and everyone has a wonderful time. That worst time of the depression will seem like a Sunday School picnic when compared with how conditions will be after that Great War.”

  1. George Albert Smith (or maybe Joseph Fielding Smith?)also said man would never be allow to make it to the moon.
I wouldn’t put ANY stock in this.

    1. What makes you so certain tht we made it to the moon? I believe It was just another one of governemnt propaganda deceptions ployed on us. I had the same gut feeling “Holy Spirt witness” of that as I did watching the twin towers be demolitioned by out government.

  2. Joseph Fielding Smith felt that man would never go to the moon. After he was proven wrong, he acknowledged that his opinion was wrong and he was glad they made it. Prophets can have personal opinions and be wrong. We never teach that a prophet is infallible. From the scriptures we can surely see prophets like Peter, Moses and others who made mistakes. However, it is different when the prophet is speaking to the church for and in behalf of the Lord.

The above revelation from George Albert Smith was not given to the general body of the church and therefore we are not obligated to put our faith in it. However, as for me personally, I know enough about the prophecies of the last days in the scriptures to not doubt what was claimed to be said above. There are enough eye witnesses that claim this was a true account. As for me I believe it. I find that some LDS members will only choose to believe things that bring them comfort. We need to be positive and hopeful, but at the same time aware and sober of the things that lie ahead.

  3. I’m putting stock in this…. going to the moon was a farce and never really happened I have witnessed documented proof from people whom helped promote the lie.. to make the soviet’s think we were light years ahead of their technologies… we’re still not that advanced. so come what may, I know the church is stressing food supply like crazy and 72 hr kits.. think all is well or not. but be prepared …make sure your membership is up to date if you ask me…WW3 is in sight even president Hinkley said he believes their will be a ww3 ..that statement was made before he died. I wouldn’t take any of this lightly….sign of the times. trust me communist America is at our door steps but our we smart enough to ward off destruction…look at the world and all it’s evil.. gay lesbian activities our ramped even my kids can’t seem to get away from it they’re surrounded by it that even her friends whom was against it is now being influenced by it. evil’s are prevailing and dooms day is nothing compared to the happening of the last day why do you think I’m against registering guns in America that how they confiscated them from the people prior to any take over… hello can’t you smell the communism???? if you’re gonna be dumb to got to be though… I hope theirs a lot of though people out there cause theirs allot of dumb happening.

  4. does this trouble anyone???..news as of today march 5th….

Mrs Clinton put some of the blame for that deterioration on the preceding US government of President George W Bush.

“There was a rather confrontational approach towards Russia in the prior administration. How much that contributed to Russian behaviour I think is a legitimate question to ask,” she said.

    Russia needs friends

Later on Friday she will hold a much-anticipated meeting with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Geneva.

Mr Obama said this week that he had sent a letter to Moscow linking Washington’s missile defence shield with Russia’s approach to Iran.

The US argument is that if Russia helps prevent Iran gaining nuclear weapons, there will be no need for the US to build its European missile shield, which Russia opposes vehemently.

Iran denies it is seeking nuclear weapons.

Mr Lavrov is likely to press other matters at the meeting, including Moscow’s desire for accelerated arms control talks.

A Russian foreign ministry spokesman was quoted on Friday saying Russia looked forward to the talks “with cautious optimism”.

It is very different from a few months ago, when Russia was blaming America for everything from the global financial crisis to the war in Georgia, says the BBC’s Rupert Wingfield-Hayes in Moscow.

Russia is now in less of a mood to be belligerent, he says.

The financial crisis has left its economy severely battered, and right now it needs friends and investment, not a new cold war.

Earlier Mrs Clinton visited the European Union, where she was greeted by Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering.

She took questions from an audience of students and young people from EU and political institutions across Europe.

She was also due to meet the EU foreign policy “troika” of EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, EU External Affairs Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, and Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwartzenberg.

  5. I think three points need to be noted:
    1. Many people dream in black and white. I think it could be very possible to think the President was Greek rather than black, as Obama is of mixed heritage.
    2. At the time of President Smiths dream/vision the thought of a black man being President of the United States would have been ludicrous (remember we had everything segregated right down to drinking fountains) so as President Smith reflected on the dream it would make sense that he thought the president was of Greek extraction.
3.Brother Horne’s full account indicates the attack occuring after the new president was elected but before the president elect was sworn in. Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but that would be 2012. That would make Obama the Greek appearing president “at the time.”

  6. General David Patraeus though he is the son of Dutch parents his name is Greek. He could be elected in 2011 with his inauguration in 2012

  7. “Greek” was a term used in the 1940’s in Utah as a more polite way to refer to African Americans
Another version of the Pres. George A. Smith Vision by Charles Fuchs?, LaVerkin, UT doesn’t remember George Albert Smith using the term “Greek” but only saying that the US President at the time “would not be of Northern European Extraction”
