Interesting question. Never really thought about that. I bet you could find out by looking in the General Handbook of Instructions, though.
Today we had Stake Conference. Bishop Richard C. Edgley, 2nd Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric came as a visiting General Authority. At the beginning of Stake Conference, we sustained the General and Local Authorities of the Church. Of course, President Thomas S. Monson was sustained as President of the Church, he having held that calling since 4 February 2008. President Gordon B. Hinckley, the 15th President of the Church, passed away on 27 January 2008. If our Stake Conference had been 3 February 2008, I assume we would have sustained Thomas S. Monson as President of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles, and then sustained as members of that Quorum all 14 Apostles currently called. We would still sustain members of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles as Prophets, Seers, and Revelators. I wonder, however, if after all that, would we have sustained the Quorum of the 12 Apostles as the Presiding Authority of the Church?
