Al Gore came to my school

Al Gore came to my school

I am working on a new e-mail to be sent out to potential Chuck Baldwin supports in Nevada.  I am doing some editing still, but this is how it stands now.  If any are interested in reading it, I’d appreciate any feedback you may have.

Dear Lovers of the Constitution;

I remember when I was in high school, the then US Vice-President Al Gore came to my school.  It was a cold day and the entire student body was gathered outside so we could hear him talk.  Some students held up “Gore 2000” signs.  He was spoke that day about the use of technology and how it would change the world.  He also talked about some of his political views and the ways that he thought our country needed to “Change”.  Many of the views that he expressed just didn’t make any logical sense to me.  It’s the same today.  I hear Barack Obama and John McCain speak about the “changes” that are country needs.  Many of these views do not make any logical sense to me today.  The battle cry of the Obama campaign is, in fact, “change”.  When asked what he wants to change, many Obama supports will look at you strangely before finally saying that his change will give them “hope”.  Hope for what you ask.  Change!  And McCain?  He only plays a conservative during elections.

Now, I am all for change, if that change is to change all the illegal & unconstitutional programs that our country has.  If this change is to restore the contract that we Americans have with our elected officials, known as the Constitution, then I’d support it.  Unfortunately, the only change that Senators Obama and McCain support is the stealing of our rights and our liberties.  Both McCain and Obama are for limiting free speech (1st Amendment) with bills like the “fairness doctrine” and McCain-Feingold.  Both are given “F”s on gun ownership by the Gun Owners of America (2nd Amendment).  Remember, Obama recently said “it’s not surprising then they get bitter. They cling to guns or religion…”.  Surely the GOP candidate is better on gun right!  Yet John McCain sponsored legislation that would outlaw the private sale of firearms at gun shows.  So much for the whole “shall not be infringed”!  Both Senator McCain and Senator Obama have taken the oath of office, which includes a provision to “protect and defend the Constitution, yet both of these candidates seems to have forgotten about the 10th Amendment to the Constitution which reads: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

The Declaration of Independence talks about unalienable rights which are “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.  So, where do John McCain and Barack Obama stand on life? As recently as 1999 John McCain said “But certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support the repeal of Roe v. Wade…”.  And Barack Obama not only opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion, but he has also stated that he would not want his daughters to be “punished with a baby” because of an unwanted pregnancy!

I believe that the answer for this presidential election is clear.  The answer is Chuck Baldwin for President!  He is 100% pro-life, 100% pro-gun owners’ rights, and 100% pro-Constitution!  Let’s send a message to the parties that we love our Constitution and that they do not have the right to trample it under their feet!

Let your Constitution loving and Freedom loving friends and family members know about Chuck Baldwin and the Constitution Party.  Forward this message to them.  Invite them to visit www.Baldwin2008.com and www.youtube.com/user/ChuckBaldwin2008.  Let’s make 2008 the year when we remind the Government that the Constitution is a contract between We, the People, and them.  And we want them to live up to it!

Thanks,

Michael H. Cox

Nevada Representative for Chuck Baldwin 2008
