If I were Nancy Pelosi, I would give in to the Republican’s demand of “drill here/drill now”.  I would call the House of Representatives back into session tomorrow, 4 September 2008, in the afternoon.  I would do this for two reasons.  First, that is when presumptive Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain will be accepting the Republican nomination for President.  Second, several of the Republicans are on a “fact finding mission” to Iraq & Afghanistan.  I believe that few of the Republicans would come back in the middle of the GOP convention and Speaker of the House Pelosi could always point out that she got down to business and the Republicans didn’t care enough about the American Working families to come back into session and vote on drilling.

July 5, 2008: By Brian Murphy

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program – a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium – reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of “yellowcake” – the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment – was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.

Both Casey and Anthony have posted this on their blog.  I thought it was very good and that it deserved to be re-posted.

People like to say how dumb President Bush is.  They like to poke fun at things he says.  Yet, this video clearly shows just how intelligent he really is.  It also shows how determined he is that America stays safe.

So, the Democrats (well, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid) said a few weeks ago that they wanted the generals on the ground to make the decisions in regards to troops in Iraq.  If the generals think we need more troops, they told us, they’d support them. President Bush is expected to outline his new strategy for winning in the war in Iraq on Wednesday.  It is assumed that he will send more troops in to secure the capital.  Pelosi & Reid are saying that they won’t support that.  President Bush hasn’t made his announcement yet and the two Democrat leaders are already fighting with him about it… after they said they’d support it if that’s what the generals are supporting!!!!

On the Today Show this past Thursday, someone said “After we were attacked by Japan, we didn’t invade Mexico” speaking about the attack of Pearl Harbor and the US entrance into World War II. Well, that is very true. We didn’t. We invaded Europe! The liberal who said this, of course, was saying how after the September 11th attacks and the US War on Terror, we should not have attacked Iraq. I’d like to thank Rush Limbaugh for the inspiration for this entry.
