| Tonight, I giving Mikey a bath. He wanted to keep playing so I had to take away his toys and put him the bath tub. He wasn’t very happy. I told him “I love you Mikey.” He looked at me, completely seriously, and said “I don’t love you Daddy.” I didn’t know what to say. He was my 2 1/2 year old telling me that he didn’t love me. I’d expect something like that if he was older, but at 2 1/2? It made me pretty depressed, although I feel a little silly how much it bothers me…

For the record, Mikey did later say he was your boy and gave you kisses. I was a bit surprised too honey, but I know it’s only the beginning of his his little mischevious self- breaking our hearts and the like so I’m not going to let it get my down.

I’m sorry to have to tell you this - but it won’t be the last time you hear that from Mikey! He is at exactly the age that it starts. At least he didn’t say he “hates” you - he just doesn’t love you. Emma has lots of things that she HATES now…
