Trying to install WordPress

So, the wife decided that she wanted a Blog. I decided to install WordPress, which is different than the software that I’m running for Mike’s World. I’ve followed the steps, but I’m still getting a message that says “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.” I’m sure that I can get it to work, but it is kinda annoying.

Mike's World: 1 Year Later

In just a few days, Mike’s World – a Blog by Michael H. Cox, will hit its 1 year birthday.  While I’ve been online for a long time, I’ve only had a Blog for a year.  I don’t post as often as I thought I would, but I think most of the posts that I’ve done have been worthwhile.  I really think that is more important.  After all, who’d want to read a bunch of junk posts that happen everyday?

I've change Blogging Software

I started my 1st blog yesterday with the free GoDaddy.com Blog Software. I liked it, except that the top 1/4 of the page was an ad for GoDaddy. I e-mailed them to see if I could pay to get ride of it. The answer, for now, is no. So, I got some new software and am now hosting it myself. I couldn’t however, directly import my old entries, so I manually copied them over.

I liked some of the features of GoDaddy’s better, but I just can’t stand that ad.

Updated: May 11, 2008
I ended up switching Blogging Software again in January 2008, this time to WordPress. As a result, I’ve decided to take down both of the old versions now as most of the information has been moved over to this new site.
