I was working on Outlook 2003 today. I could get the e-mail addresses into it, but once I wrote and e-mail, I couldn’t get it to select an account to send from (they only had one), and there was no Send/Receive button. If I tried to manually select which account to send from, I got an error message “Unable to complete this operation. A fatal error has occured in Outlook.” After running a “Detect and Repair” under the Help menu, the problem went away. I had to recreate the e-mail account and a new personal folder was created. I could, however, open up the old personal folder and everything worked well.
