I can not stand QuickBooks 2006. Okay, latest problem that I’m not able to find a solution to.
Everything was working fine on Thursday for this client. All of a sudden, they get the following message on each workstation. “Quickbooks is attempting to open this company file. Before you can open the company file from your computer, you must first open the file once on the computer where the company file is located. (-6177,0)
I do this and guess what? It still gives me the same problem.

Intuit called me back (really quick too) about the problem my customer is having. There is an update for QuickBooks 2006 that will cause the error message “Quickbooks is attempting to open this company file. Before you can open the company file from your computer, you must first open the file once on the computer where the company file is located. (-6177,0)”.
Yeah, its a known problem with the updates that QuickBooks asks you to install.

Fax (Local) and selected properties. There is a checkbox labeled “disable the recepetion of new
faxes”. This box was checked. Of course, I don’t want this, I want it to answer the fax.
So I uncheck it and press Okay. Guess what? I get a window that says “Unexpected Error”. I searched the Internet, Microsoft’s Knowledge Base, etc. Nothing. I posted the question on Microsoft’s Partner Newsgroup.

CoxRemoteServices.com. It’s not active yet, but when it is, I’m not sure if I’ll have it redirect to www.COXTechUSA.com or www.COXTechUSA.com/products/PCRepair.
